Hey Chicago What Do You Say?

When I saw the video of the double play, I couldn’t believe it. But it’s true.

The Chicago Cubs have done it. For the first time since 1945, the Cubs are going to the World Series. And it comes after beating one of the best pitchers in baseball, Clayton Kershaw.

Kershaw had shut down the Cubs his first outing. But the Cubs had his number last night, and were able to beat him. That proved to be just what the Cubs needed, and now they’re going up against Cleveland.

And just like the Blackhawks, they got there at home.

This could be the biggest moment in Chicago sports maybe ever. Though the Blackhawks are the uniting factor of the city, and the Cubs split the Chicago fanbase with the White Sox, the Cubs haven’t been near the World Series in 70 years. For many fans, this could be the first Cubs World Series of their lives.

With the team currently assembled, it will not be their last.

The Cubs look great. They have all season. Since the beginning, they have been the best team. But now they’re up against a team equally as hot with equally the “fate is on their side” story arc.

Cleveland seems to have 2016 wrapped up. At least in terms of sports. With the Cavaliers having beaten the great Golden State Warriors, Cleveland won its first big four title in years. With the Lake Erie Monsters, it won its first championship of any sort since the 60s.

But now they go up against the hungry Cubs. The team that needs to bring a title back to Chicago. That wants the title more than anything, because it’s taken years for them. Mr. Cub, Ernie Banks, couldn’t do it. But this team seems like it can.

But Cleveland seems like the team to stop them. Andrew Miller is a great pitcher. He’s going to be thrown at the Cubs a lot. The question is, do the Cubs have the bats to end him?

That answer is yes. Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, and Dexter Fowler figured out Kershaw. They can figure out Miller.

It seems like Bryant’s destiny is to be World Series MVP. Dexter Fowler is attempting to earn his next contract. Rizzo wants to prove that he’s still here after a rough divisional series.

Cleveland has a good infield and good pitchers, but the Cubs rotation should be able to get them off their game. Arrieta went out and proved he’s still one of the best. The Cubs were clearly the better team vs. LA, despite the scares the Cubs had.

In the end, I think this is going clearly one way. I also know that the White Sox were able to thud the Cleveland team all year long. So that should speak volumes as well.
